Can you believe Christmas is in a week?!? We are wrapping up projects (pun intended) and trying to get ready for the Holidays. Holiday gift wrapping is such a relaxing activity if you allow it to be and we are here to share how creative you can get with a spool of black and gold twine (any twine will do).
Instead of traditional red and green, we decided to modernize our gift wrapping game this year and went for a color palette that consisted of black, white, matte gold, and a deep teal blue. No matter what size box you are working with, you should be able to execute any of our 4 designs of string to your gift.
HIBNER DESIGN GROUP'S TIPS FOR GIFT WRAPPING:
- Be sure to crease your edges EVERY time you make a fold.
- Wrap the twine around your gift more times than you think is necessary. We discovered the more times you go around, the better.
- Think about the personality of your gift recipient. Are they funky or traditional? If funky, go for a more wild look with your string. If they are more traditional, stick to the classic cross shape but the additional wraps of twine will make it feel more updated and modern.
- Add something festive! The key to a pretty wrapped gift is the little "extra" on top. Seasonal greens, bells or dried winter flowers are a great topper. If you are in a pinch, you can always grab a clipping from your own Christmas tree! Little gift items are also super cute to add on top... think lipgloss for your bff, whisks for your baking-loving sister or a wine opener for your cousin that wishes he was a sommelier!
